Advanced class room change October 20, 2009

Filed under: Uncategorized — Lucy Filce @ 9:20 pm

Hello all,

Just letting you know that I am still teaching an advanced class on Wednesdays 8.15pm-9.15pm at Quinborne Community Centre.  We are in one of the little rooms NOT IN THE HALL.  As you walk in through the main doors walk straight ahead and instead of going left to the hall turn right down a little corridor and we will be in the room at the end.  If you can’t find us just ask Jeff the care taker who is usually drifting around!

If you have any questions about the advanced class please ask.

Big Love

You are the greatest teacher! July 26, 2009

This is beautiful:

“I will gain more understanding when I realise…….a teacher is not one with many students but one who creates many teachers.

A teacher, a true teacher is not one who gives you anything.  A true teacher is one who makes you aware of what you already have and encourages you to use it.  A teacher is not one who tells you anything.  A true teacher listens to you, learns from you and uses what you have to inspire other students.  A true teacher recognises your brilliance and supports you in learning how to nurture it.  Seeing your dilemmas, a true teacher walks through them with you.  A true teacher will look you dead in the eye, call you out of hiding and celebrate with you in the joy of standing in your truth.  A true teacher will not do it for you.  Instead, they will sit with you as you figure out how to do it for yourself.  A true teacher will not keep score for you.  They will support you in moving beyond the need to know the score.  If you are really lucky, you will happen upon the greatest teacher of all:  The student who brings you to the realisation that you are your own greatest teacher.

Honour yourself for all the lessons you have taught yourself.”

I thank all my students for being my teachers because I am still learning everyday.

Just taking this opportunity to say THANK YOU!  Thank you to all my students for giving me a safe place to do what I enjoy – teaching Pilates!  You are all looking really great, perfect tabletops and roll downs – I hardly ever have to adjust anyone these days………we’ll have to step up the pace!

So a really big THANK YOU again because without you all I wouldn’t be doing what I do.

Happy Easter April 12, 2009

Filed under: Uncategorized — Lucy Filce @ 10:47 am

Hello everyone,

I hope you are enjoying the Easter bank holiday weekend.  Please note there is NO CLASS AT ONNELEY HOUSE ON MONDAY 13TH due to bank holiday.

As Easter comes near the time of the spring equinox on March 21, when the length of the day and the night are equal it has been seen throughout history as a time of rebirth and renewal, following the darkness of winter.

We have eggs and rabbits at Easter celebrations because they are seen as the most potent symbols of fertility.

Sending you Light and Love in this refreshing time!

What is your constitution?? February 17, 2009

Filed under: Uncategorized — Lucy Filce @ 11:39 pm

Hi,

I wanted to complete an online questionnaire to find out which ‘Dosha’ (which one of the five elements) my body type is to see how accurate the online tests are.  This questionnaire sited below is pretty accurate to the dosha I was given on my consultation in India.  So if you were wondering what your dosha might be, try this questionnaire:

http://www.whatsyourdosha.com/quiz/quiz.html

Also this site had some really useful information on what foods to eat and which to avoid for your dosha:

This is the site of the Indian Ayurvedic centre I had my consultation in, the Doctor was Rohit Borkar

To all Moms and Moms-to-be February 2, 2009

Filed under: Uncategorized — Lucy Filce @ 10:39 pm

I completed the Ante and Post Natal exercise training course on Saturday – it was amazing!  The course was incredibly well taught and informative, it left me in awe of moms and moms-to-be.  They don’t call it labour for nothing!  We learnt the anatomy of pregnancy, the hormonal changes, how pregnancy affects the bone structure of the body and much more.  It has left me feeling a great of amount of respect for all moms.

You never know, it might be me one day and then I’ll be wishing I didn’t know all the gory details!

Take care

NO CLASSES TONIGHT – MONDAY 2ND FEB February 2, 2009

Filed under: Uncategorized — Lucy Filce @ 5:52 pm

Hi,

I think I have managed to text and phone all the Monday regulars that were on my list, but if I missed you out my apologies, please make sure I have the correct contact info for you next time I see you.  The class at Onneley House in Harborne and the Birmingham Sports Centre class are cancelled tonight.  The venues are closed due to the weather conditions – I was still willing to come out!!

My apologies for any inconveniences, if you want to come to any of my other classes this week you are most welcome (see the classes info at the top of the page).

Take care everyone; stay warm and safe on the roads and footpaths.

See you soon
